Brad

In this podcast Swami Tommy keeps it real with listeners about the discrepancy between who we aspire to be, based on groovy teachings and inspiring insights, and how we actually act. Pema Chödrön calls this sticky situation "the squeeze."

For example, let's say we feel open and loving in one moment and then we come across a person who annoys us. Do our hearts stay open to feeling annoyed, or do we begin to close down our open heart and shrink into old patterns of reacting negatively? Here we often feel a squeezing sensation inside our bodies and in our minds when facing this dilemma.

Each day presents us with hundreds of opportunities to grow into our aspirations. Each day also presents us with hundreds of opportunities to act, think and feel the same way. It's like the choice between being a cold robot of repetition or a warm alive human being struggling to act in more loving and compassionate ways. What's your choice?
